Diodes Incorporated's Logic Family Saves Space with 1mm Square Package

Jan 20, 2011

DALLAS, Jan 20, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD), a leading global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality application specific standard products within the broad discrete, logic and analog semiconductor markets, today announced its release of 8 single gate logic functions in the miniature 6-pin DFN1010 package. Measuring just 1.0mm by 1.0mm and with a maximum off-board height of 0.4mm, the latest additions to the 74LVC1Gxx logic family provide space-saving opportunities for the smallest handheld devices, including advanced cell phones, satellite navigation systems and tablet computers.

The product introduction includes 3-input NAND and 3-input AND gates and four configurable multifunction gates providing a choice of up to 7 different logic functions each. A Schmitt trigger inverter and Schmitt trigger buffer complete the new offerings, all of which are all also being made available in industry standard SOT packaging.

The logic devices' wide operating voltage range of 1.65V to 5.5V means the parts will be equally well suited to traditional 5V as well as ultra-portable battery applications with its 1uA typical current draw helping to reduce energy consumption. Powered down, the devices' output circuitry is automatically disabled to prevent damaging backflow current and to ensure signal isolation. With 5.5V tolerant inputs, the logic products can also serve as voltage translation devices. Further information is available at www.diodes.com.
