Diodes, Inc. Releases New Dual 100V SBR(R) Rectifiers with Industry Leading Performance

Dec 10, 2007

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 2007--Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD), a leading global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality application specific standard products within the broad discrete and analog semiconductor markets, today announced the expansion of its high-performance SBR(R) product line with the release of a 100V SBR(R) rectifier. This product has an ultra-low forward voltage drop (VF) which is among the lowest on the market today when compared to all other Schottky rectifiers in its package type. The SBR40U100CT is primarily targeted for use as output rectifiers in switch mode power supplies (SMPS) that offer cooler and more energy-efficient operations for end user applications, such as notebook adapters, LCD televisions, rack mount servers, industrial computers, telecom and medical power supplies.

In addition to the SBR40U100CT, this product release includes a cost-effective 200V SBR(R) rectifier in an isolated TO-220 package. The SBR10200CTFP is designed to meet the most optimized performance requirements of the high-volume end user markets of LCD televisions and printers. The SBR10200CTFP offers a 200V reverse voltage breakdown rating that is superior to many lower voltage 150V Schottky competitors in this market, and allows for greater reliability to handle large voltage spikes.

"With the release of products like SBR40U100CT and SBR10200CTFP, Diodes continues to use die technology combined with efficient packaging scalability to leverage both the performance benefits and now the cost benefits of SBR(R) technology," remarked Mark King, Diodes' VP Sales and Marketing. "With our SBR(R) die technology combined with our new TO-220 and ITO-220 packaging capabilities, Diodes continues to expand our SBR(R) technology into new targeted markets designed specifically for the demands of high-volume, end user applications."

With this release, Diodes is offering five other SBRs in this product family. The new SBR40U60CT, SBR40U150CT, and SBR40U200CT devices all achieve a continuous forward current rating of 40A with a low forward voltage drop (VF) and a high maximum junction temperature of 150 degrees C. Diodes is also offering two new 60A rated rectifiers in a standard TO-220AB package, SBR60A150CT and SBR60A200CT. All of these rectifiers are rated for high forward surge capability making them ideal for such applications as industrial computers, telecom and medical SMPS, where efficiency and reliability are critical to the design.
