Diodes Incorporated Increases First Quarter Guidance

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 16, 2004--Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq:DIOD), a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-quality discrete semiconductors, today increases guidance for the first quarter of 2004.

The Company now expects that revenue for the quarter will increase 3-5% on a sequential basis from the record revenue of $39.2 million reported in the fourth quarter of 2003. In addition, the Company anticipates that its gross profit margin will expand by 50-100 basis points sequentially from 29.5% in the fourth quarter of 2003 due to the Company's ongoing efforts to shift its production towards higher margin lines.

Chen, President and CEO of Diodes Incorporated, said, "Based on strong global demand, improved book-to-bill ratio, and the success of new products, we now expect another quarter of record sales and improved margins and earnings in the first quarter of 2004. Carl Wertz, the Company's Chief Financial Officer, will be presenting at the B. Riley & Co. Fifth Annual Investor Conference in Las Vegas at 8:50 a.m. PST on Wednesday, March 17, 2004. The conference will highlight more than 70 companies from different industries. Diodes will host a conference call at 8 a.m. PST on Thursday, April 29, 2004 to discuss first quarter 2004 results, which will be released earlier that day at 6 a.m.
