Diodes Incorporated Upgraded to ISO 9001:2000 Standards

Oct 2, 2003

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 2003--Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD), a leading manufacturer and supplier of high quality discrete semiconductors, primarily to the communications, computing, industrial, consumer electronics and automotive markets, today announced that it has successfully completed the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) compliance audit with respect to meeting the stringent criteria for the New ISO 9001:2000 standards.

As part of the upgrade, Diodes expanded the scope of the ISO certification to include Product Design and Development. The new classification reflects Diodes' increasing focus on R&D as a means to deliver differentiated product lines that offer customers greater choice, more flexibility and measurably higher levels of performance. Diodes' success in achieving the new standard adds an important secondary Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code to the Company's existing certification for semiconductor devices by assigning an SIC Code covering design.

Meeting this standard reflects the Company's commitment to providing the highest-quality products and services to its customers, and is an endorsement of the Company's commitment not only to understanding and meeting customer needs, but also to enhancing customer satisfaction. Since this ISO 9001:2000 certification represents an industry-recognized level of quality, it provides customers with added confidence in their decision to partner with Diodes, Inc.

"We have worked hard to establish a solid reputation with our customers for producing products of extremely high quality and reliability and this upgrade from our existing ISO qualification provides independent validation of our commitment to manufacturing excellence," said C.H. Chen, President and CEO of Diodes Incorporated. "This ISO 9001:2000 certification sends a strong message to our customers that Diodes is committed to ensuring the highest product standards."

ISO 9001:2000 certifications have been awarded to our Corporate headquarters in Southern California and Diodes-Taiwan, our Asia-Pacific sales, logistics and distribution center. Diodes-China, the Company's manufacturing facility in Shanghai, and Diodes-FabTech, Diodes' wafer fabrication facility in Missouri, will be audited for upgrade in June 2004.

The ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies, comprising members from 127 countries. The object of the organization is to promote the development of standardization and related activities throughout the world, with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods and services and the development of cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic activity.
