Forbes Magazine Includes Diodes Incorporated Again in '200 Best Small Companies' List for 2005

Oct 20, 2005
           * Leading Semiconductor Manufacturer Ranks 26th Overall

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD), a leading manufacturer and supplier of high quality discrete semiconductors, today announced that it was named among the 200 Best Small Companies in America in the November 2005 issue of Forbes Magazine for the second consecutive time, rising to # 26 from # 100 last year.

According to Forbes, the list " ... doesn't do flashes in the pan. It does, however, feature solid and consistent hitters that have performed well when measured over the last 12 months and the past five years, and are poised for another growth spurt." The Forbes 200 Best Small Companies in America list has been published annually since 1996.

To qualify for the magazine's rigorous standards, candidates have to show a consistent pattern of positive growth during a five-year period, as well as over the last 12 months. The criteria taken into account include sales, net income, and earnings-per-share. Only companies with sales in the $5 million to $750 million range, net profit margins greater than 5% and share prices above $5 as of September 29, 2005 were considered.

"To be ranked 26th in Forbes' list of the 200 Best Small Companies, and as the only company in the semiconductor industry, is a great honor. The dramatic jump from 100th last year confirms that our strategy to differentiate ourselves with innovative technology, customized product focus, and excellent customer service continues to be successful. And it encourages us to continue to build a leadership position in the discrete semiconductor industry," said Dr. Keh-Shew Lu, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Diodes' 2004 performance included: Earnings of $25.6 million or 13.8% of its $185.7 million in revenues. Through the first six months of 2005, income increased 35.7% to $14.9 million, and revenues increased 12.2% to $99.2 million. Diodes, Inc. will release third quarter 2005 results on October 26, 2005.

The list of the 200 Best Small Companies in America was selected with the statistical help of William O'Neil & Co. in Los Angeles, and represents a diversified group that includes industries from aerospace to health care, oil and gas, computer software and hardware manufacturers, and others.
